Discover the unique properties of the therapeutic waters of Terme di Chianciano

Treating yourself with water in a natural way is possible at the Chianciano Thermal Baths. Hydropinic cures consist of daily intake, according to a doctor's prescription, of Acqua Santa and/or Acqua Fucoli. The two waters belong to the bicarbonate-sulphate-calcic thermal water category, with anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. During treatment, they are collected directly at the source and used, at their original temperature, as a curative drink for the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract, with a distinctly liver-purifying action. Acqua Santa and Acqua Fucoli are also useful as hydrosaline replenishment.

Hydropinic cures with Acqua Fucoli

Fucoli Water, taken in the afternoon, after the digestive process is complete, is particularly indicated for digestive disorders such as slow digestion, reflux, and sluggish intestinal emptying. It is also useful for counteracting intestinal discomfort related to irritable bowel syndrome. It is a good source of hydrosaline replenishment, with useful minerals for healthy bones and muscles.
Its intake causes an increase in the production and release of bile and promotes its outflow. It thus regularises intestinal motility, activates diuresis and exerts an anti-inflammatory action on the gastrointestinal mucosa. It is useful for improving post-prandial digestion.
The recommended hydropinic cure cycle is 12 days, combined with the Acqua Santa hydropinic cure. Acqua Fucoli is not affiliated with the SSN.

Hydropinic cures with Acqua Santa

Acqua Santa, taken at its original temperature of 33°C, on an empty stomach and in divided doses according to the spa doctor's prescription, acts on three levels: on the digestive tract, on the entero-hepatic circulation of bile acids, and on the liver cell. The spring springs naturally in the Acqua Santa park, where it is possible to stroll around while taking the thermal water and be entertained at the same time by events, music and cultural activities. The natural treatment with Acqua Santa stimulates the production of bile (choleretic action), causes the gallbladder to contract and empty and the passage of bile into the intestine through the bile ducts (cholagogue action). The agreed course of treatment is 12 days, and it is recommended that it be carried out without interruption, at least for the first 6 days. The hydropinic treatment can be supplemented by baths and mud baths of the liver region (balneo mud bath cycle). Mud-bathing of the hepatic area, complementing the hydropinic treatment, contributes to the antispasmodic and decongestant action on the hepatic and systemic level.
